#2This research explores, for the first time, the ear canal as a potential site for non-invasive blood glucose monitoring. The in-ear sensor uses photoplethysmography (PPG) in combination with machine learning to estimate blood glucose levels without the need for painful fingersticks or invasive devices.
My aim is to make diabetes management easier, more convenient, and less expensive for millions of people around the world, paving the way for earlier diagnosis and enhanced treatment of diabetes.

But this would probably be even cooler.
Do you think there would be other locations that lend themselves to this, besides ear canal? People already use their ears for headphones a lot, so it might be difficult to use for some.

Very cool! I'm currently wearing a CGM. I already love these and find them super non-invasive (Freestyle Libre 3). It's a penny that sits on your arm and every 14 days you change it for 1 minute. But this would probably be even cooler. Do you think there would be other locations that lend themselves to this, besides ear canal? Thank you for your comment! The main idea is to integrate this sensor with earbuds or hearing aids, since these are already widely used.

Cool stuff! Any physiological reason why the ear canal would be better suited for PPG compared to a say something like a PPG device in a watch?
