I was thinking the same thing. I'm surprised it's taking this long, honestly. He's such an icon and major player in the history of the computer industry. Edit>> Though I suppose there's a confirmation process HN goes through before sporting the black band.

Let’s not assume badly of them. The real reason is likely that the person who changes it to black (dang?) isn’t around to do it right now.

I think the spirit of Moore's Law (the context in which it is most often used) is better referred to as the Law of Accelerating Returns [1] [2] (e.g. by Ray Kurzweil). Moore's Law is a sub-section (in time and technology) of the Law of Accelerating Returns.
