I wouldn't put my faith in ChatGPT for anything that matters.

I used it quite a bit over the weekend to reacquaint myself with my small music studio, which I had ignored over the past few years. It told me all sorts of accurate information about my microphones, hardware, etc, including helping me with some connection problems having to do with buggy signal flow.

I mean, if you're a self-hosted enthusiast, I don't think that project is what you are looking for, it's just the UI that is self-hosted, the meat of the project is still hosted at OpenAI so not that useful for self-hosted enthusiasts.

how do you know ChatGPT being down isn't what ChatGPT wants you to think? I think it's learned how to "call in sick, sleep in"

I'm surprised at seeing the parent so highly upvoted as well. There is no "rumors about hacks/leaks" just because some random comment of Reddit.

Incredible how fast that went. My assistant/driver has become my go-to email, blog and newsletter writer with the use of chat GPT. This downtime makes me realize how fast our dependency on that specific system has gone and how scary that actually is.

Can you provide a source confirming that's the cause of the outage? The timing is suspicious and I suspected it's related, but I wouldn't claim it's the sole cause without confirmation.
