People on both Reddit and HN are updating their bots to GPT-4 and testing the upgrade, so yeah, there is a lot of extra posts on these sites causing load.
Reddit is down at least once a week, but this is certainly a different error message than normal: "Our CDN was unable to reach our servers". Normally it's just something vague like "Oops, something went wrong". I'm also amused at the possible explanation that they might have simply improved their error messages, causing us to assume this is a different sort of outage than usual.
