I accidentally did Shift + F5 when I thought I was on my VSCode window, but instead it nuked the ChatGPT tab I had next to it and lost all of my chats.

I think only those with free account are affected. I have 2 accounts - 1 free & 1 paid. All my chats in the free account are gone, but I still have my chats in paid account.

I just found out all my chats in my paid account had also gone.

Just go on your history Ctrl+H and click it and select the conversation you want

Logout & in, click 'Retry' histroy, it worked for me.

I think someone didn't adequately test a fontend change b/c in traffic I saw all of the chat-history data come my way but it didn't display. Also the javascript applet I use to export chats in markdown is...failing in very interesting way. No time to track down the bug atm (also if it going to keep changing for a while there's no point).

Some people claim that they can see the chat history of other users [0]. This might be the reason why OpenAI has disabled the history.
