Since when did Google become the Internet police? Seriously, I don't think it's their role to penalize anything you find annoying online.
It's Google's service, it's Google's web-spiders, and it's Google's attempt to deliver useful content to their own customers. How is it NOT in Google's interest to police the links they present to visitors of Google's own properties? If you don't like it, use Yahoo!.
