#2Stuff like this has been popping up for years, but its become pretty clear than Apple/Google have little incentive to funnel more of their app store profits towards policing their own stores. Where else are users gonna go?

in 2 decades, they could have built their own search, many tried and many found success!

I mean I use FDroid, and I used Cydia when I had an iPhone, but they will never provide any competitive pressure needed to light a fire under Google/Apple.

Just wait, the EU is likely going to force Apple and Google to allow 3rd party app stores without any handycaps.
In fact Apple and Google may do this before any ruling in order to prevent such a rule from even becoming law.
