I distill the brains of one engineer into words that other engineers can understand without feeling the need to nod their heads and pretend they understand. Extensive background in "Just about Everything but K8s and frontend web". Allergic to most Javascript. Currently volunteering my time with the Google Summer of Code's Most Desirable Organization, the PSF for administrativia work. Much cat-herding. If you read this and my resume, please include the word "orange" and one of the hobbies listed on my resume when you get in contact. I can teach a non-technical manager the pros and cons of a highly technical choice without making them feel stupid. Blockchain projects need not apply.

I love building, optimizing, and collaborating with enthusiastic, diverse, and inclusive teams. Recently deployed v4 of dbSpy (an open source dev tool for logical modeling of PostgreSQL and MySQL databases), making contributions across the Node.js/React.js tech stack with a focus on improving the front end architecture.

I'm a pure math PhD who likes to solve difficult and open-ended technical problems. My academic focus was on quantum topology and topological quantum computing. Since graduating in 2019, I've primarily done documentation, kernel, and parser/compiler work for a P2P operating system. I am particularly interested in quantum computing positions, but am open to hearing about opportunities to work in any kinds of technical problem domain that has room for creative mathematical approaches. Looking for research or back-end engineering positions. I am not interested in defense contractors, finance, or ad/surveillance tech.

Location: Atlanta, GA, USA

Remote: Yes, or local to Atlanta

Willing to relocate: No

Technologies: I've been fluent in C, Python, and Java in the past. I primarily used Hoon for the past several years. The main thing I offer is a broad knowledge of mathematics. I have a different toolkit than a typical software engineer.
