Hi! I'm Henry, a Computer Science student with two previous SWE internship experiences. I'm looking for software engineering internships and part-time positions.

I interned at JP Morgan Chase in summer 2022, where I used Elasticsearch to implement a recommendation feature for their regulatory compliance library, which houses 15 million law citations. I also interned at an early-stage AI start-up in summer 2021, where I took ownership over the development of an online code assessment platform, and deployed the final product on Alpha launch day.

Feel free to reach me at codicate@gmail.com

My name is Laralyn. My background is in information and knowledge management, but my methodology focuses on users. Understanding a user base (expectations, goals, behaviors) is key to delivering products that are useful, usable, and engaging. My approach is a blend of quantitative and qualitative user research, working inclusively with cross-functional stakeholders, and testing the assumptions that inform business strategy.

I have 10+ years of experience leveraging data to identify target audience trends and produce actionable insights (e.g. designing attitudinal surveys, analyzing behavioral data, or using analytics to test a design hypothesis). I also have 10+ years of experience balancing and validating data-based insights with qualitative user research (e.g. facilitating user interviews and focus groups, leading workshops to understand users' mental model, or generating usability feedback through wireframe or prototype testing).

My experience spans roles in research, design, facilitation, product development, knowledge management, and content strategy. I've worked with startups and Fortune 500 companies in a range of industries; worked on a team of one and teams distributed across time zones. What's important at this point in my career is working with a collaborative team that values curiosity, transparency, rigor, and empathy for the user.

Hi, I'm Jon.

I've had numerous roles and responsibilities under the umbrella of "techology-related problem-solver". I have a fairly T shaped skill-set and tend to gravitate towards areas where I can have the largest impact. Sometimes that means architecting and building distributed systems solutions and libraries, other times it means working with security teams to improve the Secure SDLC for an engineering group by growing developer mind-share into Shift-Left. My lauded communication skills have enabled me to solve some engineering problems with soft skills alone.

I've worked in the healthcare space for the last ~5 years, and have found my cross-knowledge of development and secure practices to be a boon in leveling-up engineering groups perspectives on handling and protecting sensitive data (HIPAA and friends).

Technology-wise I've worked with quite a few different stacks (most recent noted above) and don't have much trouble picking up new things and diving deep. I tend to stay abreast of technology developments and trends by consuming sites like HN or subreddits for specific languages/technologies (In communities which I'm not directly involved, I check in once a week to see how different groups shape their perspective on discipline-wide problems). I also enjoy the opportunity to dive deep into the source code of an open-source project to answer questions that aren't well documented or blogged about.

Most of my work is closed-source, but I tend to hang around in slack/discord/gitter/etc and try to answer more than I ask.

I'm currently looking for full-time remote opportunities.

Resume/CV: very spotty! Reach out to me for details. I built the header-bidding ad tech that runs the ads on EasyBib.com, CitationMachine.net, and BibMe.org.

Experience: 15 years

I have also worked as an LSAT instructor. I've taken the last four years off from programming (except for six unpaid months working on an Elixir app), so I'm looking to get back in at a reasonable rate.
