#152How do you get a layer of butter on your kitchen ? Not a native English speaker so maybe this sounds natural to people - but to me it sounds like bad wording. It paints the wrong picture and is not kids friendly wording IMO.

#154I hate this so very much. Automating creativity is so gross. Never mind the fact that these models are trained on stolen artwork and texts.
If a person learns how to paint expertly by looking at (and even copying, stroke for stroke) paintings, would you consider that immoral, and those paintings having been stolen? If not, what would you say the difference is?
There is the notable difference in the speed and scale at which a computer can be trained. The analogy doesn't really hold up in my opinion.

#155I did something similar for my younger daughter using MagicStory[1] (not mine). I have told her the story quite a few times at her bed time. She has shown it to her teacher and her friends are "jealous." It has her pictures, kinda morphed like a princess and stuff. Edit: Clarifications. 1. https://magicstory.ai

Super glad to hear your daughter loved it :) we're pushing updates to improve the stories and definitely take privacy seriously - right now all images get deleted once your characters model is trained. Also planning to have stock characters so you can make stories without uploading images since I get that's definitely a concern for most parents. Would love any other feedback…
I guess we all had the same idea because I'm building something very similar too :)
When did you get the idea? ChatGPT is what sparked it for me.

The square root of 3.5 is always the same value, so why bother doing it less efficiently? The same is not true for creativity.

And is that a goal or event that the spectators are waiting for? And if it occurs what would it infer about human cultural evolution?
Maybe[1]. At least ChatGPT seems to "think" so. I was curious about how ChatGPT would go with creating memes (this era’s main cultural output).

Kids absorb all sorts of lessons parallel/orthogonal to and sometimes completely opposite to the ones intended by the committee of creators, like "I'm being palmed off with garbage", "I'm being subtly coerced by forces I don't quite understand."

#159Can tell it was written by ChatGPT. Has that kind of verboseness to it, can't quite put my finger on.
But a kid won't be able to, and if they can they won't be able to articulate whats wrong with it. From the perspective of anyone going into AI, that makes children the perfect target for the mass produced blended garbage that AI generates.
What elevates a human story higher than ChatGPT's? Do our brains have some hidden trascendental property that LLMs can never get to? Or is it simply our own biases once we learn that this is the product of an algorithm rather than human-made?

Well, they wouldn't claim to assemble it. It's clear to me these people using AI so heavily don't have an authorship role at all, but a publishing one.
It's not so clear to me. AI is just a tool you use like any other.
