I've gone through countless high-end electric toothbrushes. The DiamondClean only lasted a few months. Had some high-end Oral-B sporadically turn on whilst unused. Wonder if this is a regional thing? UK. FWIW, using an Oral-B currently. It's OK. Previous one died after less than a year.
Also UK. We use Oral-B electric too and TBH have reached the point where we just factor in an annual replacement. Their battery life gets very bad very quickly, but they seem to own the mass market here and nobody else feels any better. Atrocious. Any quality suggestions are welcome.
To my limited knowledge, the sales folks for Oral-B visit the dentists who get them onboard with recommending it to patients. It would be a tall order and slow process for a competitor to make meaningful inroads within the UK, but one I wish someone would take on.
Very frustrating, especially considering that the amount spent doesn't seem to buy a better product, just added gimmicks on top of the same disappointing base experience.
Furthermore, I went through quite literally half a dozen Sonicare Airfloss with pump failures, eventually landed on a water flossing device with an enormous handle from Amazon, at least the pumps don't die now, but new problem of developing leaks after half a year. There's no winning.
