Darn Tough Socks. I'm sure many people have said this before in these threads. But they're well made and have a lifetime guarantee. Sure, $20 seems like a lot for one pair of socks, but not if you have them for life.

#192Uniqlo HEATTECH T-shirts. I wear these as first layers. They feel good and have a touch of elasticity and never wear out.
I was a big fan, but I stopped buying anything Uniqlo after it came out they were beneficiaries of forced labor in Xinjiang.

#194Electric tooth brush - the speed and mainly the quality of cleaning is way much better
FWIW, using an Oral-B currently. It's OK. Previous one died after less than a year.

I have a set of Revere Ware I inherited from my grandparents that they received as a wedding gift almost 70 years ago. Great stuff, unfortunately I won't be able to use it once I get an induction range.
Do you have an exhaust hood over your stove?

By that you mean in public indoor spaces. "Don't you want to kill your family members?" No, not really. Just my personal choice. A comfortable mask isn't some great burden to me. The whole line of questioning feels strange, like someone incredulously saying "Do you plan on wearing pants for the rest of your life??"
I find it’s actually pretty good to compare it to sun protection. Kids used to run around in the sun without sunscreen, still can in some places/times to a certain amount… but we collectively sort of realised the risks and so most people (at least in Australia) use sunscreen to avoid the easiest cancer to avoid, Melanoma. There are people who have a natural immunity of sorts due to darker skin and melanin concentrati…

Its a political statement/dogtag for them.
maybe even virtue signaling.

Or maybe even, as they said quite plainly, "at-risk family members".
Personally I wouldn't wear a mask any more; as others have said I think there comes a time where unless there's a specific heightened risk you have to accept that you either stop at some point or wear one for the rest of your life.
That said, I have immediate family who are extremely immuno-suppressed. I either wear a mask, or every day I increase the risk of killing them. So I wear a mask.
Sometimes the argument is pointless. The "other side" may even agree with you. Yet life often makes a mockery of our choices and forces behaviours upon us.

#199My list of things under $200 that last "forever" is getting pretty short. Pyrex meal prep containers (1/2/4 cup). The silicone lids will eventually fail but you can replace them (or do without). Also, cast iron, knives and silverware seem to be fairly eternal. Not sure I can recommend anything with motors, electronics or computers in 2023.
True, though my 512MB iPod Shuffle (the classic stick one from 2005) is, surprisingly, still going strong.

#200Electric tooth brush - the speed and mainly the quality of cleaning is way much better
I've gone through countless high-end electric toothbrushes. The DiamondClean only lasted a few months. Had some high-end Oral-B sporadically turn on whilst unused. Wonder if this is a regional thing? UK. FWIW, using an Oral-B currently. It's OK. Previous one died after less than a year.
Atrocious. Any quality suggestions are welcome.
