#164can i just step in for a second and point out its 30 replies here and just a single seeking freelancer comment. I have never seen this on HN as far as i can remember. Its also the feeling i get from my usual freelancer newsletters and linkedin offers, i have rarely seen the market so empty, not even at the beginning of the coronavirus lockdowns.
Are you using some sanitizer for these whoishiring threads? Or just read through / CTRL+F ?

I thought the previous Freelancer threads had 1:10 or 1:20 ratios. It's not surprising to me, the freelancer market seems to be more network-oriented. Upwork etc being heavily skewed not in freelancers' favor.
Saw mixed feelings about upwork. There are ppl saying that is the place to be on freelancing, others (some "employers" complained about low qlty of work).
I am going to make an account there soon(TM).
