"Professionally maintained" reads a lot like gate keeping... What is objectively better about InvokeAI's implementation?

That's a fair criticism, it might be me gatekeeping. To explain myself, these are specifically my pain points with Auto's repo: 1) No stable releases or versioning. This makes it difficult to use, as any given pull of the repo could be in a broken state. A better alternative is to, at the very least, tag known working commits. 2) Lack of testing; this is related to above. Even basic tests that would stop things like…

This looks like a tool for generating images of underage cartoon children? Even right now you can see some of the example images are generated with a hand on the breast through a bikini top.

For what it's worth, Usada Pekora is a vtuber (a streamer who presents themselves as a mocapped anime/cartoon/3D avatar) who is never implied to be underage. Not that I'm defending whatever Automatic1111 does.

I don't think Pekora is the subject of issue here.

Look at some of the embeddings in the mega link, there is unambiguous loli content there.

Just wait till you hear that some circles of the net think using pepe the frog is a racist dog whistle.

Like it or not, Pepe did get co-opted by a weird alt-right subculture, so while it later got reclaimed, for a while there was a good chance posting Pepe meant you were aligned with the alt-right or incel culture. There's an entire documentary on the artist behind it and what happened called "Feels Good Man" it's really quite good: https://www.feelsgoodmanfilm.com/

What happened was that journalists wrote articles claiming that Pepe was an alt-right symbol. But this was never based in fact, it was simply a misunderstanding by journalists ignorant of internet culture. The alt-right made a lot of Pepe memes because Pepe memes were popular at the time when Trump's campaign was taking off.

The problem is that when journalists make mistakes, it becomes fact, true or not.

There's no reasonable, understandable way to see (raised long fluffy tail), (((detailed face))), (((detailed amber eyes))), (((disfigured feet))), ((extra limbs)), (((water marks))), ((captions)), ((text)), (((feral))) and come away with "I guess it's that Twitter thing". Really, no, let's not cast away all reason just to taste the sweet fruit of outrage.

In Photoshop's official documentation, does Adobe include links to instructions for creating "lolicon" (cartoon child pornography), like Automatic1111 did?

Come on bud, most Americans are fine with guns, but if I made a gun that only shoots pregnant women cowering in fear that pose no threat to the wielder, I think people would be rightly upset.

People can argue that generating loli content is an alright thing to do (good luck), but at least one of the embeddings linked was explicitly finetuned to generate loli content.

Reddit does not use a safelist, you can post just about anything. I imagine there might be a blocklist for known malicious domains. Individual subreddits will have their own rules, and automod can be pretty easily configured with your own safe/block lists.

The blocklist is quite stupid though, the .ru TLD is totally banned, for example. Russia is obviously hated due to their war, but banning .ru is just dumb.

> banning .ru is just dumb.

Why? Is it perfect, no. But perfect is the enemy of good. If it noticeably reduces posts and votes which Reddit's teams have to deal with, while also no having a material effect on the general user experience, then why not use geo-blocking?

Using GitHub is a privilege, not a right You should do your business elsewhere if you don't agree with GitHub TOS

If it's not a right, does that mean GitHub could ban every black user if they wanted to? I doubt it. Could they ban every Russian (or people of specific nationality in general)? Can they ban everybody sharing an idea? I'm really curious where the line is drawn.

Yes they can. What’s your point

Always use the OK sign (to mean OK), even if someone else uses it to mean something else. Use it aggressively, always, relentlessly, as protest against bigotry and against language policing.

If you're going to use it "aggressively, always, relentlessly" then you may have to brace yourself for the occasions when you use it to someone from Brazil (where it's said to be a gesture along the lines of the middle finger) or with black-bloc counter-protestors near a nazi rally, or any other context where it's considered hateful or just generally rude. The Brazilian may just think you're an asshole. The black blo…

It will land me in "tricky situations" only with assholes. The Brazilian will probably, like any reasonable human being, understand.

So it was just links to external sites? Why is GitHub so puritanical all of a sudden? They didn't used to care about things like this e.g. https://github.com/kuiwang/Deep-Cream-Py

Cartoon child pornography.

At least the USA and Japan make a legal distinction between that and "real" child pornography.
