Maybe in their current form eventually.
Though I'm sure when 3D animation first became a thing people were saying it was the end of jobs for cartoonists. This was mostly true but end result is probably more working in the space in general, even if specific jobs shift.

I'm seeing it as tool that can generate more with less people/time — so I think we may see a shift where there will be less 3d modelers for large tasks, like the creation of backgrounds and other everyday objects.
