I'd expect silk song to come out this year, I think the sequel to breath of the wild as well?

I don't know if either will have a narrative to get lost in, but they'll certainly have worlds to get lost in

For me, it has become overtly adversarial: rampant "advertising"/manipulation, pervasive use of dark patterns, content for the sake of content, and the bulk of discourse is overly pedantic/in bad faith. It's not so much about finding something out there that's "better", but more about removing activities from my life that are low or negative ROI, and the ROI of the content slot machine that is the internet I expect to fall even further with the advances in AI that ChatGPT is demonstrating.

If the OP weren't so far down the front page now, I would fully expect a reply along the lines of "Well that's not the internet's fault; it is just a tool and people are the problem [..]", or "Well unless you want to pay for content, advertising is required", or "Well why don't you create the community you want then? Be the change!". To continue with the investment analogy: this is why I avoid participating in online communities - the ROI for publishing a comment (or more) is low. At best, I can expect a few upvotes which feels quite hollow, and at worst, several comments patronising me or giving my comment the least charitable interpretation possible for Internet Smackdown Points. Yes I know, I left a comment on HN; you caught me in a weak moment :) I do like writing, putting some structure and physical form to my thoughts, but dealing with the conflict it can bring online is taxing - maybe too taxing.

I recommend Control to everyone I can. Stunning game, weird as. There is a... sequence... towards the end that is in my Top 3 gaming moments ever. Probably even Top 2. Sounds a bit cliché but Control opened a creative doorway in my mind that I didn't know was there, and now I spend a lot of time trying to find more things like it.

I do indeed.

Although I thought about it a bit more, and I'm a sucker for the storytelling trope they use a little bit after that, which means Control probably takes 2 out of the Top 5 moments :)

I want to learn Ruby on rails. Would you or someone else like to collaborate with me or be my mentor? (I tend to get stuck at times and then lose the momentum).

Outer Wilds (not to be confused with Outer Worlds) is the best game I've ever played. An extremely engaging discovery driven story game that's so well executed it puts most AAA titles to shame. It's one of those amazing experiences you'll only get to have once. Wish I could forget everything and play it over again. (If you're not convinced look at some of the reviews online. But try to avoid spoilers as much as possible. This game is best experienced as blind as possible.)
