I think you mean “The Day before Christmas Eve” (what is called “Little Christmas Eve” in Norway) instead of New Year’s Eve.

#9In Sweden, it has been shown since 1969 on New Year's Eve. The distribution rights were bought 1963, but since there was so much drinking involved it took 6 more years before it was broadcast. We use the Swiss version that is 11 min long, not the 18 minute German version.

#10Also here in Austria, usually broadcast shortly before midnight.
Not sure if the author confused it with Australia, which is confusingly mentioned under "Popularity across Europe", or lumps us up with Germany, which misses the fun factoid that we split up again in 1945 (and also tends to get people over here surprisingly pissy).
