I've watched a lot of Errol Morris and liked the Interrotron interviews but after awhile I noticed there's a certain feeling of artificiality, a feeling that there is a strange mechanism at work in between the two people.

Perhaps, but it’s an interesting concept (used to great effect in Errol Morris’ interview films with Robert McNamara and Donald Rumsfeld, among others), and they explain a DIY approach at the end.

It seems this technique is getting more pervasive. With such interviews, I always got the feeling these people are talking to a machine. Now that I learned about the Interrotron, I know they are talking to a machine.
