It also seems to have to do with Netflix subscriber loss. Netflix tries to target a more left-wing, "woke" younger audience, and while that works for most tech companies Amazon has targeted sports and older demographics, which seems to be the larger market in the world of TV. Netflix has been bleeding US subscribers for a while while Amazon is growing

Is there some new way Prime is "going down the toilet" as opposed to Amazon's retail arm in general?

#6Every time I buy something on Amazon (not often) it uses the most convoluted dark patterns to trick me into subscribing to Prime and has succeeded more than once to enroll me in the free trial. It puts me off using Amazon. They need a "I am not interested in Prime" setting to make shopping bearable.

They have been essentially flat in the 73-74MM range since COVID started. Peak 75MM about a year ago. They announced the price hike to $15-20/mo about that time and slid down to 73MM again. No comment on the woke theory. I just don’t see it in the numbers.

Some people still report that they get Prime deliveries in 2 days or less but many people believe AMZN is no longer offering this to their ZIP code.
