SEEKING WORK | US, TEXAS | REMOTE

----------------------------------

I've 16 years of experience delivering projects in large enterprises and early-stage startups. I'm a mix of both business and technical, and my expertise is in working with technical and non-technical folks to quickly bring new ideas to market while keeping costs low and quality high. I write most of the code, build the hardware, and occasionally hire consultants/companies to help.

Tech: Node/Express, TypeScript, Angular, React, C++, Python, Postgres, Redis, Java, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, hardware prototyping, OpenCV, basic deep learning using pre-built models, OCR, iOS programming, Android

Relevant experience

* I bootstrapped a project from idea to $15k MRR - I built the entire thing using Node, Angular, Postgres, and Python running on EC2.

* Delivered a project that handles 2 million events per second, primarily built in Java.

* IoT project, which included building initial prototypes using Raspberry Pi, Arduino & ESP 32 + various sensors, hired contractors to make the final product (custom PCB and enclosure). I wrote firmware in C++ and backend in Typescript/Node/Express, Python, Postgresql, Redis, Typescript/Angular, and Swift for iOS.

* One-touch document processor & automation that digitized paper documents and took relevant actions. Built it using Node/Angular, Postgresql, OpenCV, Paddle OCR, Tesseract, Scikit.

SEEKING WORK - Montreal (Canada) - Remote

Technologies: Various solvers (CPLEX, Gurobi, Or-Tools, etc.), Python, C++, Bash, Linux, and others

Résumé/CV: https://github.com/PhilippeOlivier/curriculum-vitae/blob/mas...

Email: See CV

I have a PhD in optimization / operations research. I'm the father of four young children, so I'm looking for flexible/remote part-time work, and/or contract work. I can work up to around 20-30 hours per week (this varies depending on whether kids get sick, if I have other contracts, etc).

My specializations revolve around optimization and operations research---essentially, I solve optimization problems. You can give me a real-world problem and I can translate it into a mathematical model that can be solved (often optimally) via integer programming, constraint programming, or various forms of metaheuristics. I could manage my way around new solvers and programming languages if the project required it.

I'm currently working on a column generation-based daily fantasy sports (DFS) solver as a personal project. Taking as input the predictions/requirements of the user, this solver can generate optimal lineups for multi-entry tourneys. It is, as far as I am aware, the only DFS solver that can generate provably optimal sets of lineups for multi-entry DFS tourneys.

SEEKING WORK | REMOTE Need help with migrating to next.js? Looking for a React developer who would be productive from day 1? Hi. I'm looking for full-time remote roles in a well-funded stable company (I will work in the company's core office hours. 0 issues with timezones. Been working remotely before covid) Building websites since 2016, working with React since 2018 and have 2 years of production next.js experience…

Please don't post in the freelancer thread if you're looking for full-time work.

I was going to move your post to the "Who Wants to Be Hired" thread, which is the appropriate place for it, but I see you already posted there as well.
