Why would Spotify allow you to replace payment processor? App developers make this complaint about Apple and Google because the App devs are actually selling something. In this case you are buying a service from Spotify. It literally makes no sense in this case.

You could say pretty much any corporation in America is like the CCP in that they are undemocratic and take unilateral action at the expense of stakeholders. Karl Marx has a lot to say about this. Complaining about Apple in these terms is missing the forest for the trees.

Stop buying Apple if you don't like it. Seriously. At the end of the day all of these companies would do the exact same thing as Apple if they were in Apple's position.

The real solution to this is improved functionality of web apps and complete migration to those, then you can be free of the duopoly. Other than using phone specific features, why can't all apps run on your desktop, laptop or elsewhere?

I'll never get why Apple makes their rules very clear, and people buy Apple and then complain it's restricted. By people purchasing non-Apple phones you incentivize the production of non-Apple phones, helping break their hold on things.

The way I see it the users have two crappy options based on business model: 1) Apple's freedom from inspection: they control your device and their ecosystem because they make money off the ecosystem.
