As a contractor, I never expected holiday pay. Sort of goes with the title. If I'm sick I get nothing. How is this a surprise?

What exactly is your comment accomplishing? They were receiving holiday pay. This is common enough for a lot of contractors since it doesn't cost much and improves morale.
This isn't them not receiving something they never had. This is an employment perk they have had for years being taken away right before a holiday.

Some people empathize with the working class over CEO’s and billionaires. Some people think in the end, billionaires will be ok, and ultimately are not being exploited.

If that’s really the goal there are a million better ways to spend your time and energy.
