Twitter has like less than 1000 employees. If half are getting this review for 10 minutes each that's 83 hours. A team of 8 that he trusts can do that in a day. No it's not thorough, but it's a start and you can schedule more thorough reviews as needed.

With all the departures from Twitter's payroll department, I'm curious if these employees can even count on being reimbursed for the travel. Ever (if bankruptcy), let alone in a reasonable time frame.

Also, how does Twitter handle approval for travel if one's manager is gone?

If you are mentioning a previous comment of mine [1] in this thread I think you're grossly misrepresenting my words. And if so I definitely take offense in that as it's not only uncharitable, it's completely missing the point and reducing a brief expansion based on one of your questions to "only attending meetings and writing design docs", something I've never mentioned in the hypothetical scenario you raised.

I expect my assumptions are wrong because if not I'd definitely say you're not fit to be a leader or architect of anything.

I'm not voting because I think it's true or untrue (although I do think it's untrue) I'm downvoting because it's an extraordinary claim offered with absolutely zero evidence, and I've watched the entire Western world practically collapse from offering credence to this behavior over the past decade.

All personal accounts I've heard of from people that work there are yes, he does know about engineering and is incredibly smart. But that doesn't mean you know how to run a social media company, and trying to pivot Twitter's work culture on a dime is going to be chaotic. FWIW I think he's a toxic asshole, but that doesn't mean he's an idiot.

He lied about having a physics degree and he can't code. He knows nothing about engineering.

The game industry manages it because a lot of people dream of making games, in the same way as I'm sure Tesla and SpaceX have a lot of extremely dedicated employees because the work they're doing is literally a life long dream. There's some very interesting things to solve and achieve at a platform like Twitter but I doubt very many people have had them as life long targets for themselves to achieve.

That's the thing... Tesla and SpaceX were revolutionizing electric cars, batteries and launching humanity into the stars. Twitter allows hot takes and racism, not exactly comparable.

Even the challenges in scaling a platform like Twitter to a global scale are gone. They were novel and exciting 10 years ago; today, using cloud services, it's a comp sci 301 assignment.
