Calling 911 for a "cut thumb" is suspicious. Could very well have a been a fight with an abuser and been bullied into saying they cut their thumb cooking. Wellness checks are common if you go to the hospital. I, a large man, was asked repeatedly if I felt safe at home with my small spouse, when I went to the ER for a cut.
This is normalized system fuckupery US style. Surreal in Europe, at least for 3 countries I lived & worked in. People have common sense in such a topic, and that includes cops, judges, hospital staff and well everybody involved.

It is a culture difference. In Europe when my wife cuts her thumb I call 112 to ask for help how to stop bleeding and where is the closest emergency room. In US police squad is sent immediately for domestic violance investigation.

Unless their English made the injury seem catastrophic, it's difficult to imagine a 911 dispatcher listening to that call and thinking it merited sending cops (or even an ambulance) over.

They called 911 over cut little thumb while cooking? Or did she somehow accidentally cut off whole finger? Who in the world and where ever calls 911 for normal cooking cuts? And ... what does this has to do with children? Or like, they somehow cut of kids little finger so badly that kid needed 911 and now they wonder why there is investigation? There is no explanation here that makes sense.

Yes, it is super difficult to imagine. There is no country in a world with healthcare system where this would be normal. It would need to be super rich country with incredibly generous health care system, but they dont do this in Sweden and what not either.

#19I’m divorced with a kid in the US, everything was totally fine, no one scammed me, the courts were very friendly. I imagine this depends on where you live
