Happens in Canada too. Probably because we have them every like 18 months.
[edit] The last one, Parliament was dissolved September 11, 2019, the vote held on October 18th and results announced on the 21st.

#24If I was Brazilian I would never support Bolsanaro, but he was right about the electronic voting machines. It is shocking to me that there is not a paper record for each cast vote in Brazil.

Votes are counted, not the supposed size of stage-managed "rallies".
If there is one thing the US election of 2020 showed us is that there is zero relationship between crowd/rally attendance and voter turnout for the candidate.
One explanation is that voters may be enthusiastically voting "against" a particular candidate, in which case they would likely not be attending any rally or showing support in any meaningful way.

A lot of people have no interest in having their politicians work them into an outraged frenzy.They just want their officials to do a good job and don't care about speeches and such.
A politician who attracts a more visceral audience is going to superficially look more popular than they actually are.
So going by crowd size can be deceptive.

Absolutely, Trumps super fans would travel hundreds of miles, or even just follow him from town to town like groupies. Lots of them were retired and had the time and means to do so.

It is extremely rare for an election to be undecided at 60 days (Bush v. Gore was decided after 35 days, for example). If you're talking about the 2020 Presidential election, the reported counts were sufficient to determine (not "predict") the winner within about 18 hours of the last poll closures or thereabouts. It was politically convenient to spin the remaining counting, certification process, inevitable legal challenges, as "uncertainty" when there really was none.

The problem with electronic voting is that it's either impossible or extremely unlikely to prove either way.
Germans and many others have banned them for that reason.
