#3I'm going to ask the dumb question here - how is this at the top with zero discussion? If I need to get dunked for asking that's fine, but I don't understand, since HackerNews is suppose to be a place for high quality discussion on tech.

This plugin could potentially be a big deal. PureData has been around for decades but fell behind Max and/or MaxMSP mostly (IMO) due to usability limitations. If more people will be able to incorporate PureData organically into their workflow, it could create a real alternative to Max4Live in DAWs other than Live.
I could fantasize even further. A PureData plug-in could kickstart a VCVRack type effort - an open source library of interconnected audio processing modules.

This is cool if you are interested in digital synthesis. Pure data and max/ msp have a long and complicated history. Very nice to see that pure data is still keeping up vs the ableton live / max programs.

It often takes a while for comments to start showing up. That can be a good sign, actually—interesting reactions often take a while, since processing information takes time. Quick reflexive responses are often a bit mechanical/predictable.

Hacker News has moderators who can place things at the top of the page regardless of votes. Personally I think they've been do a great job, but YMMV.

#10I am only on mobile right now and travelling so can’t actually test this. But boy is it exciting to see a potential OSS alternative to max4live.
I think Max and m4l are well worth the price if it’s something you do all the time, but as a more casual user something with a lower cost of entry would be highly welcomed.
