I am struggling to see how this story "gratifies one's intellectual curiosity" according to the site guidelines, but perhaps there's an exception for tabloid-level crime stories when they relate to meat substitutes?

It’s a cautionary tale for how hard it is for tech founders to stay on-brand.

not sure why this is getting flagged if true....

I think it's because there's nothing interesting about it. Guy commits crime, unrelated to why they're notable enough to warrant an article. It just invited shallow conversation, jokes, etc. Contrary to reddiquette, it's perfectly acceptable to flag for quality control. This is a perfect fit there.
