You started investing a couple of years ago and now you're retired? If that is the case, you would make millions from selling courses and sharing your secrets. Also, if we're talking about side projects that net $500 a month, I think the monopolization theory is a little dramatic.
1) to really know the stock you are investing in
2) keep your nerves
3) buy for less then you sell; add the fees too
