The average Joe does not know the difference between SMS and the more advanced features that iMessage offers when messaging withing the apple ecosystem. All they see is that androids are unable to send high quality images, send reactions etc.

I wouldn’t want to force them to adopt some third party protocol, especially if this is initiated by Google (who has a history of failed text/chat products).

#50So I buy her phones. I pay for her service, and I pay for AppleCare, some peripherals and other services that make it useful. It’s the least I could do for her giving me life. She gets a camera too, doesn’t get caught on one side of the digital divide and more importantly, she retains the means of having a social life as she gets older.
