Look into it. There are an awful lot of young athletes in peak physical condition that have collapsed on the field. A large number of Canadian doctors also died suddenly and unexpectedly.

An awful lot of young athletes collapsed on the field prior to 2019 as well. Look into it. I’ve sadly witnessed it happen before.

Climate Change is changing babies in the womb. They are more susceptible to heart disease.

From the article, “The Covid-19 pandemic is the primary cause of the decline.” And it is going to decline further. Covid affects multiple organ systems; the acute phase of the infection, it is safe to say at this point, is not the primary cause of concern. Covid-19 infection increases the chances of a stroke 4x and of heart failure more than 10x, among other disorders, within 12 months of infection. [1] A chief scien…

For everybody or for some people? What is the causal chain?

25 years ago I predicted that seat belts will cause an increase in fatalities and hospitalizations for trauma. I also predicted that people will blame this on car crashes as proof that we needed laws requiring them.

See how silly this line of reasoning is when you don't feel bothered by a need to provide data or statistics?

It stands to reason that

* If the vaccine is safe and effective, life expectancy would improve some over 2020

* If the vaccine is safe and ineffective, life expectancy would stay about the same as 2020

* If the vaccine is unsafe and ineffective, life expectency would drop below 2020

We are now witnessing the third outcome.

it’s not a lifestyle problem. neither willpower nor lifestyles have changed much. processed carbs being addictive, however… medication that treats it like the medical problem it is, instead of berating people for a lack of willpower that they were never missing to begin with, will fix it https://www.mounjaro.com/

It's absolutely a lifestyle problem. Americans have a shitty car-based lifestyle that causes obesity. Go to Manhattan and see how many obese people you see; there aren't many. Or go to any other country where people walk a lot. This is uniquely a western, and especially American problem.

"However, whether reinfection adds to the risk incurred after the first infection is not clear."

The sentence you’ve quoted, from the abstract of the paper, refers to the state of knowledge before this paper was written/published. The results section of the paper updates this knowledge. It says: “Compared to those with first infection, those with reinfection exhibited increased risk and excess burden of all-cause mortality, hospitalization, and at least one sequela in the acute phase and the post-acute phase of…

Hate to be that guy, but people who are susceptible to reinfection are also probably less healthy.

The effects are also compounding with each re-infection.

Do any of the epidemiologists/virologists who are saying this offer any thoughts as to why SARS-CoV-2 and the immune response to it are so different from every other novel virus which has emerged in the past? Is there any precedent at all for "a virus which reinfects you over and over with no reduction in lethality/sequelae from the repeat infections"?

I find the cognitive dissonance that goes into thinking that the vaccine for a virus must be causing the increased rate of effects from an actual infection to be fascinating.

It's mostly about diet, not calories burned, unless you're burning a LOT of calories each day.

For most people weight creeps up on them slowly. Losing a lot of weight quickly does require radical changes to diet, but not putting on the pounds in the first place is generally going to be a matter of burning an extra few hundred calories a day.

Also, just not being sedentary all day is associated with a ton of positive health outcomes (possibly mental even more than physical) independent of body fat percentage. So it’s worth it all on its own.
