#13Well, it's a pleasant surprise to see this being still posted! It's been 10 years this last April that I made HackerTyper! https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2480946 I can honestly say it 100% bootstrapped me in the programming world and it's been one of the best things I ever!
Thank you so much inventing it.
This serves as an ice breaker in my introductions to python programming and works like a charm every time.

Thanks for making this! I still hop on occasionally for when I have the itch or when trying out a new keyboard or desk arrangement. I find I still type the best on my 1989 IBM Model M. (Average: 86 WPM)

Or program a GUI interface using visual basic to track the killers IP address.
You can do it twice as quickly when you have a friend typing with you.

I'm pretty sure it was also featured in the first episode of Russian Doll. The screen wasn't zoomed in enough for me to verify it, but it looked very similar. Maybe if you watch it in 4k you can tell for sure.

Oh I can assure you it’s alive and well. As a Middle School CS teacher it gets annoying. Each time I have a kid declare to the class, “Look, I’m a hacker,” I have to stop what I’m doing and explain to them that no that’s not hacking. It has started some good conversations about how they can hack stuff in their own home, but mostly it’s a bit of a distraction. So, thanks for the teachable moments throughout the years.
Ahah I live to hear stuff like this! You are welcome! :D I actually receive a fair amount of email from kids with clear school emails and they always put a smile on my face :D

Uni students are definitely the ones that ask permission the most! Bigger studio, I can't think of any right now
