You mean in the land of the yakuza?
I don't know what you're trying to imply here? Yakuza aren't know for guns or political assassinations.

#112And after debating gun violence all week with my friends in the wake of the 4th of July shooting in Highland Park I made an example of Japan and it’s low gun violence. Now this happens. Crazy stuff still happens in Japan but it’s usually a knife or ax. But guns and Abe are on another level.

#114This is really sad, he was a great leader of the world's top country Japan!
Maybe he is just a nut.

Japan's justice system has it's flaws just like everywhere else, but they absolutely don't sweep crime under the rug.
You should talk to Zainichi Koreans that live there more. This may be a difficult point to take in a community that views most things based on numbers and data.

There are regular efforts to discredit Japan, and I think it has to do with them being the model for "done differently and to better success". Better birth rates, very very few cesarians. Far fewer health mandates, better health outcomes. Cash-based economy, fully functioning without being subject to mass surveillance. Even better litter outcomes despite no public trash cans. #117From the picture the gun is homemade - https://twitter.com/bulletinletters/status/15452502106827325... https://twitter.com/Global_Mil_Info/status/15452494953987194... Standard pipe gun with I'd guess homemade ammunition, gunpowder and ball bearings.

#118The most surprising thing here is that he was shot. How does someone even get a gun in Japan? Number two is he’s the exPM, so what would shooting him gain?
He may be an exPM but he is the leader of the current mainstream faction (Hosoda faction) within the ruling party. So this is kinda huge.

Guns are not complicated machines, anyone motivated with even basic household tools can make one if they want to do so.
And it looks like someone did.

#120Shinzo Abe was a world-renown revisionist who tried to turn Japan back into a far-right, ultra-racist country. Look, you guys are super smart with computers, but stop this absolute nonsense.
