#3im getting a whiff of civil asset forfeiture coming from this. thats not a good plan, its a horrible way to encourage cash harvesting from unbanked noncriminals.
there are particular things, such as ghost phones, digital currency, and origin of revenue that sound like issues to address mentioned here as well

#4Isn’t an iPhone an encrypted device? Thought I read stories of police agencies trying to hack their way in…. How about android phones? Are there any graphics or compression algorithms that could be used as encryption?

Well, in the sense that criminalizing stabbing someone is the same as "criminalising hand movements".
There are better defenses to be made for encryption than "but it's math".

HDMI, Thunderbolt, USB-C, DP all use encryption. And yes, Android devices. Any device that can run Windows 11 has a TPM. I wouldn't be surprised if a USB-C cable was involved in DRM crypto operations.
Hard disk drives and SSDs. All modern games consoles, televisions, set-top boxes. Those Keurig coffee machines with DRM coffee capsules and all of their ilk, possibly inkjets and their cartridges. Car key fobs. The list goes on.

Yeah, because this was obviously my best-effort attempt at defending encryption, rather than simply mocking the arrogance of the parasitic bureaucrats who assume it's even possible (let alone achievable) to put the genie of encryption back in the bottle.
