#8Not specifically meant for rogue waves though, but rather to predict calm streaks in the waves affecting the ships motion. This is useful, e.g. when landing a helicopter or transferring cargo or persons to another ship while at sea.
I can confirm that there is a lot of interesting math involved and, as noted in the article, a challenging amount of computation to do in a real-time prediction setting.
