#82Their honesty should be applauded. Imagine they hired you and then had to fire you in 6 months. Keep in touch with the PM if you liked them and see how they perform in the next 12 months.

#85Can anyone explain to me how come we are about to hit recession when there is an incredible demand (as in people have the money and want to spend them) for everything (furniture, appliances, anything really..) but there's no supply?

#87Businesses in other sectors (not tech companies) rely on software so those jobs don’t go away. Not every sector of the economy is a rollercoaster like the tech sector. Some skills transfer better than others. I stayed employed through the 2000 downturn doing database work (Oracle) for enterprise logistics companies, for example. Away from the bleeding edge of tech you find plenty of jobs, although maybe not as sexy or fun as you’d like.

#89I had a loop set up with a tech startup, and ultimately I decided that due to their market segment potentially being impacted by the recession that it didn't make sense to keep interviewing. I was likely to be much more secure at my much larger company in the economy sours.
So I canceled an interview loop that was going really well. There's more to it than just economy, but it was one factor.
Ultimately no hard feelings. They understood.
