#4The quoted "competing exec" is 100% wrong when he says Netflix is making a mistake ending shows after three seasons. Shows need to be pitched and run for three seasons max, period. Everyone has a life other than the show that's "hot" for the moment, from cast to writers to the source of money - the viewers. Shows that get dragged out inevitably suck. And yeah, go to weekly releases.

#9Decade+ subscriber: I'm never watching those shows. If they have to advertise or talk up their programming, it's not going to be worth the time to see how terrible it is. On the other hand, I'll have 3 people mention a new season of Ozark before I've noticed it's been released.... Actually, that was more true of the second season than the recent ones.
So, if fixing the content is the answer, then maybe the people who created the problem aren't the right ones to fix it. Their taste is out of sync with that of their subscribers.

#10I did not know they were thinking about taking on ads. That's got to be a circling of the drain.
Pesky things. I bet Gutenberg felt the same.
