1. Their political leaning isn’t relevant. Are you saying you will only take this seriously if it’s posted by an overtly left leaning outlet? 2. This is a senior engineer. Do their comments about internal practices not matter at all? 3. Where is the rumor? It’s a video. Is this a deepfake we are watching? Are we hallucinating?

This guy doesn't work at Twitter. He has no online presence under that name (no LinkedIn for a guy this high up?) and his script is just super laughable ("We at Twitter are just super left left left, we hate the right")

The whole video is just straight up fake.

It is probably related more to the long and well documented history fraud and other crimes that Project Veritas has committed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Veritas#Incidents The founder should have served hard time for the Mary Landrieu incident alone.

Hardly - putting someone in jail for going into a federal building under false pretenses? That's pretty darn close to just trespassing to me. I feel I have no strong biases one way or the other - I've only just heard of this media outlet, but from the list of incidents it looks like they're just doing _actual_ investigative journalism and digging for answers instead of just copy-pasting from AP Newswire and adding a…

Allow me to copy and paste the opening paragraph of their Wikipedia page:

Project Veritas is an American far-right activist group founded by James O'Keefe in 2010. The group produces deceptively edited videos of its undercover operations, which use secret recordings in an effort to discredit mainstream media organizations and progressive groups. Project Veritas also uses entrapment to generate bad publicity for its targets, and has propagated disinformation and conspiracy theories in its videos and operations.

Where you got “_actual_ investigative journalism and digging for answers” from that is beyond me and is something to probably reflect on if you’re being serious and not just shitposting.

One of the particularly amusing things I’ve noticed in right wing agitprop things like this is how badly they are at imitating actual leftist discourse. Nobody talks like that IRL except in the minds of RWNJs. I can’t think of a single left leaning space I’ve been a part of in the past five years where someone would say that and it wouldn’t go unchallenged or people would look at them very weirdly. It’s such a fundamental misunderstanding of the underlying dynamics.

It’s one of the most obvious tells, I’m just surprised that they are still this bad at it after so many years.

In their defence it doesn’t matter in practice, the target audience simply does not care or know the difference.

First step after leaving the dinner would be to scrub any online presence (to enable this exact comment). Not calling you out specifically, it's the right play.
