What are your thoughs at the Zenphone 8? 5.92 is too big?

im using one now. and yes, i consider it too big to use one-handed without dropping it.

also, the physical buttons are way too easy to press. every time i hold it, i accidentally press something :(

5.5 inches is about the limit for me, with pretty avg hands, imo.

previous phones were sony xperia compacts. last one was xz2 compact and felt pretty good, though could have been a tad thinner/lighter.

I've been using my iPhone SE since 2016 and man do I wish there was something to switch to by now. I don't think I can stand PWM on newer OLED iPhones (that includes 12/13 mini) and I will dearly miss the headphone jack. If there were a modern (un-Googled) Android phone like the 1st-gen iPhone SE, I'd be ready to spend $800 on it, I don't even care about cameras, fingerprint sensors, or NFC.

Some might want to do it on purpose… like recording videos in a pool or lake. I’ve done it with a 6S, it survived just fine.

Growing up I was told the major advantage of capitalism is that you get a diversity of offerings. This seems less and less true as time goes on, but maybe it was always an illusion.

It's not going to happen. The only people who like small form factor phones are tall men. Every other demographic still needs two hands for a 5" phone and thus opts for more screen real-estate almost all of the time.

5" is still too big though. The iPhone SE screen is a fine size at 4.7"

I have an iphone SE 2016 because I too felt that new Androids were too big, switched in 2019. If too many people are upset at the price maybe you could have an Android Mini-a like the Pixel line. I had the first Pebble and have fond memories. I have high hopes for this!!!! I also love hardware but I never made it stick for work. I am also planning to move from a 4a, and at this point it would be either a Sharp R7 (probably not available internationally though) or a Sony Xperia 10 IV. The Sony seems to be the best alternative though I have no idea of the software quality.

I've been burnt by Sony. Back in the first generation of the compact flagship. A great phone in all aspects... Until it was dropped. A tiny crack in the corner of the screen, you wouldn't notice without looking for it. Unfortunately engineering choices by Sony folk meant that any crack anywhere disabled the digitizer (i.e. the touchscreen loses the touch part). Such a bummer.

I ran those for many years but unfortunately the batteries are old and seem to only last a year these days

Why not go to an Apple Store, and buy a new battery?
