IIRC candy is also recession-resistant since people eat more of it for emotional support.
Be that as it may, See's candies are still tasty. And the factory smells amazing if you ever drive past it.

What that company did to Tim Horton’s was basically an act of war against Canada.
I'm from NY so I consider myself a bagel snob. The bagels at Tim Hortons in Ontario are worse quality than anything I've ever had in the states. They are similar to packaged bagels from the supermarket
NY bagels, and pizza, are always the best.
I used to work for Marin Bagels.
Hated the owner, but that's not my point.
Making bagels last more than a day is difficult task.
Real bagels need to be boiled.
These boiled bagels that are only flour, water, and salt. (there's so much yeast in the air of a bagel shop they don't need to add anymore.)
These bagels are only fresh for a few hours, and need to be freezed if you want anything resembling a fresh NY bagel.
My point is bagels are hard to make. That is good bagels. Good bagels need to be made daily.
Bagels in the store are basically white bread.
I still think there's a market for fresh bagels flash frozen. I noticed one company doing it, but the price point was too high.

Right. Yes. Dextrorotative glucose. Grape sugar, blood sugar, corn sugar, glucose, dextrose. Dex. Dextrose monohydrate, powder. It tried the syrup from the commodity seller I bought from, but it was too thick, too glassy and I couldn't mix it. Food production facilities get it in that form, however. But the powder is great, you can get a little 1 pound bag from a brewer to try it, it looks...well it looks like powder…
Thanks for sharing. Have you considered skipping the "middle man" and just using xylitol to sweeten your drink and skipping the mouthwash? A brief browse of academic literature makes me wonder if you have a specific blend of gut bacteria which leads to suppressed appetite after consuming dextrose.
Just keep it away from your dog. Xylitol is a notorious pet killer.

The US is very bad at ensuring our food supply is what it claims to be.... you have to trust companies, basically.
Are you suggesting other countries independently test each food product that is sold to consumers?
Local authorities in the UK have a legal duty to implement a food product inspection scheme. It's regulated by the Food Standards Agency. And yes, the labs used are independent.

...that's out of android updates as of this month.
The specs are fine, the security isn't, and that's the problem.

In the UK the government tests each food product ? I doubt it. The website suggests random inspections. Just like the US does.

People aren't entitled to their jobs any more than any other business is entitled to their customers. To think that they are is to infantilize salarymen and to perceive them less as free economic agents and more like serfs, incapable of proving their worth in a free, competitive market.
