Yes, you are the only one.
I can see the headline now: “The one lone user who deleted his Twitter account after Elon Musk’s acquisition”
FTFY.

If Musk acquires Twitter, I will likely be deleting my account. Am I the only one? Would his acquisition spell the beginning of the end for Twitter?

Really hard to imagine the richest and most accomplished dude on the planet not being able to secure funding. Somehow people still think he’s just a showman. At some point in time, accomplishments can’t be explained away
Accomplished? He's got money and hired some smart people. And tech media is more than happy to ignore all the stupid shit he's done and tried.

The downvotes in response to my question seems to imply a lot of people think a Musk acquisition would be a good thing. Maybe list some of the reasons why?

>extrapolating that everyone else will feel the same way Whoa, where are you getting that?
You know where I'm getting it. If I say: "could this be the worst presidency our country has seen?" It's clear that it's not a real question, but an assertion. Similarly, when someone says "could this be the end of Twitter?" they are suggesting that it is in fact the end of Twitter.

It's more that your parent comment doesn't convey much information. I read it as "I don't think Musk acquiring twitter is a good thing" without explaining why and extrapolating that everyone else will feel the same way.

The point is, building tunnels underground for personal transport vehicles as a "solution" to traffic is a terrible idea, and something only a showman can sell. Even if he has an awkward 2 hour speech about it, he succeeded as a showman because Vegas funded this terrible idea (just look how it ended up).
> The point is, building tunnels underground for personal transport vehicles as a "solution" to traffic is a terrible idea, and something only a showman can sell. The fundamental point of boring company is to reduce the cost of underground boring. Shoving cars through tunnels is a means to an end of reducing the cost of underground boring. It's about finding a path to make some kind, any kind, of money off of boring…
The Elephant in the room is what is being provided. Elon is already at the limits of his hours on a daily basis to devote to things with SpaceX, Boring Company, Tesla, etc. Picture it this way, Twitter is your startup and Elon proposes to buy you out. Would you not question how much time we would devote as part of the buyout talks?
How much time he can spend is a much bigger question if he’s being hired to run the joint.
