Good, that an institution with so much money has been treating them this way is simply inexcusable.

No, grad students have been unionizing across the country, including Berkeley, Columbia, and many other places

Coming from Sweden I'm surprised they aren't already. Do you also not have student unions to represent you until you reach undergrad?

Elect leadership. Who then negotiates with the faculty.
