2021 - Volcano caldera ready to wipe out civilization

#3There are lots of things to talk about other than the 'climate crisis' and exaggerating it can lead to a misallocation of resources really.

#4There is currently some chance - possibly single digit percentages - that the northern hemisphere will dissolve in a nuclear fireball and the rest of us will freeze in a long sub-zero nuclear winter.
The sort of people who suggest we should only talk about the climate are dangerously foolish. Priority 1 is peace, priority 2 is prosperity (which helps keep the peace). Those two issues take priority over the climate, which is only interesting as a component of them.

#6The only thing we should be taking about is the fact that newspapers love setting the agenda, whether or not there's any link to the reality.

#7I think we should talk about:
- How to be decent human beings to each other, and especially how to not kill each other
- The media has too much power
- Government over-reach
Probably other things, but I don't know, these seem like way better hot-button issues.

#9I’m a full on believer. I even own an EV but I think this alarmism is just making people numb.
I think there’s a whole generation out there that never read “the boy who cried wolf”.

#10If it becomes the only thing we talk about, then it will sound like hysteria, and taking action will get lost in the noise.
