thatDot | Remote | Full Time | https://www.thatdot.com

The project you'd work on: https://quine.io

Distributed Systems Engineers: Mid- and Senior- Levels

Director of Engineering

thatDot has created the world first Streaming Graph, called "Quine" to make interpreting high-volume data streams dramatically faster and easier [1]. After 7 years of DARPA-funded research and development with a fantastic team of engineers, it's a game-changing core infrastructure technology. Our products are used by major security companies to do real-time behavioral analysis, monitor and triage their alarms, and automate remediation of security threats.

We're an early-stage venture backed company, and now is a great time to join! We believe strongly that each person should get more from their job than just a paycheck! It should be interesting, provide a chance to learn new things, help advance your career, work with amazing and kind people, and be fun! A person ≠ their opinions. We value individual people who know how to disagree productively with each other so we can all learn. We deliberately cultivate a space where learning new things is the goal. Non-traditional backgrounds (i.e. non-CS degrees) are strongly encouraged; philosophy majors wanted!

Tools in our stack - NOT REQUIRED if you're willing to learn:

- Scala. We happily use pragmatic functional programming on the JVM.

- Akka. The Actor model is at the heart of what we do.

- Akka Streams. Backpressure is the ideal way to approach streaming data.

- Databases like Cassandra, RocksDB, and more.

- …and the right tool for the job.

If you're interested in learning more, please reach out to: contact@thatDot.com

Winterlight Labs | Toronto, Canada | Full-Time, Hybrid-remote | https://winterlightlabs.com/

We analyse the acoustics and content of speech and language to help identify disease and quantify its severity.

We work with life science companies, academia, and senior care companies to improve clinical trials, quality of care, and health outcomes. We're serious about doing this well; we've published a lot of research on how to use speech biomarkers to identify disease[0].

We primarily work remotely, but everyone is within travel distance of our Toronto office. We plan to offer hybrid in-person + remote from the Greater Toronto Area for the foreseeable future.

We're looking for an Applied Research Scientist in machine learning / NLP to develop machine learning methods for helping people with cognitive impairment or mental health conditions. This role will report to and work closely with Jekaterina[1], our Director of Machine Learning Research.

See the posting here for more details: https://winterlightlabs.bamboohr.com/jobs/view.php?id=33

Email (debo@winterlightlabs.com [2]) if you'd like to chat further, even if you're just curious about what we do. We like meeting new people! You can also get us at careers@winterlightlabs.com.

You must be eligible to work in Canada to be considered for this role.

MorphMarket.com | Senior React Developer | Remote | Full-time | Contract | https://www.morphmarket.com

I'm the founder of MorphMarket.com. We are an online marketplace that connects breeders and keepers of lizards, geckos, snakes, frogs, spiders and other captive-bred pets. Launched in 2015, we are the largest reptile-related website in the world with over 5,000 active sellers in North America and Europe on any given day. Our users passionately love the least loved animals.

We are looking to add another experienced React front-end developer to our fully remote team. Having become the leader in buying & selling, we are expanding our services for this industry.

Our backend is implemented in Python, of course. We use Django/Postgres/Redis with a front-end of React for new development. These new pages are replacing our older JQuery/Javascript/Bootstrap pages. As a FE dev, you could think of yourself as a Python handler. :)~

Check out our recent work in this demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNrGkf20NPc

Key skills: React, Javascript, SCSS, Bootstrap, JQuery. Good knowledge of webpack, flexbox, debugging, browser caching, performance profiling, web performance fundamentals. Pragmatic: ability to balance quality and speed. Nice to have: Typescript, React Native, AWS Services

There are 8-10 people on our product team. We collaborate with Github and Slack. We are a bootstrapped family-owned startup, with strong revenues and growth. As a developer myself, I try to keep things fun and interesting for the team.

Please contact us at jobs@morphmarket.com with a statement of interest, relevant qualifications/experience, and billing rate. Thanks!

Flagship Biosciences | Broomfield, Colorado | Image Analysis Engineer | US Remote/Onsite | C++ | $98k-$118k

Flagship Biosciences is looking for an Image Analysis Engineer on our Imaging Science team. This role will be directly responsible for maintaining existing image analysis functionality in our current production toolbox as well as advancing that suite and developing new functionality. We are based in Broomfield, Colorado but our development teams are remote. This role has close interaction with many teams that are in-office and would likely benefit from an in-person presence.

The existing toolbox relies on traditional image analysis algorithms as well as ML to generate scores for pathology review in support of pharmaceutical trials. As we advance more into the clinical space, this role will be critical in developing robust diagnostic algorithms to directly help patients.

As owning and maintaining existing solutions will be a large focus of this role, a solid background in C++ and image processing and analysis techniques are being heavily selected for.

If interested please see https://flagshipbio.bamboohr.com/jobs/view.php?id=79 for more information. Also feel free to email me directly at canderson@flagshipbio.com. I'm not the hiring manager but my team works very closely with this role and I am able to provide more details on what this role entails.

ProcedureFlow | Frontend Developer (React), Full Stack .NET Developer | REMOTE in Eastern Canada | Full-Time | https://procedureflow.com

ProcedureFlow is a platform for your company's procedures inspired by the way you work. We're like GitHub but for visual procedures. We have change requests, everyone can have a "draft" branch, a side-by-side diff view of the flows, etc.

ProcedureFlow has great customers that consider us vital to their business. We have ambitious goals and need your help. We've grown 600% in the last 4 years, we've more than doubled our revenue and staff in the last year, and we recently raised $2.9 million in Series A funding.

Top 3 complex problems we're working on solving:

  1. GitHub for visual procedures; versioning a knowledge graph.
  2. Adding a public API for flows, event data, and critical features like SCIM.
  3. Bridging the gap between documentation, execution, maintenance, and insight of a process.
Our technology stack includes: React, C#, Postgres, Redis, Node, Terraform and AWS.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience building cloud-based web apps in C# or React.
  • Experience as a generalist working on both the frontend, backend, and anything it takes to solve problems and delight users.
  • Pride in working on projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems.
  • The ability to stitch together many different services and processes together even if they have not worked with them before.
  • Empathy with their users and are stewards of crafting great experiences.
  • Skills for upholding best practices in engineering, security, and design.
We try to make our technical interview process very practical and fair. We want to understand your skills and get a sense of what it's like to work together. For example, we don't use LeetCode, whiteboarding, ask you to recite an algorithms, etc.

Check out our engineering blog for more insights into our culture: https://medium.com/procedureflow-engineering

Interested? Send us your resume, GitHub profile, or anything you'd like to showcase: https://jobs.procedureflow.com/o/senior-developer-full-stack...

I'm a co-founder and the VP of Engineering. Happy to answer any questions!
