Wow that’s another real world use of the eponymous shibboleth

It has been all over the news, so it won't sabotage anything. Most elderly people from the south-east of Ukraine wouldn't be able to pronounce it as well as they mostly have a very spotty command of Ukrainian.

Apparently even Russian speaking Ukrainians can usually pronounce it as it's a bread commonly eaten at some Ukrainian holiday (source is some random Reddit comment so take with a grain of salt)

I suppose I must have been wrong about generalising it to "most elderly people", but my Granny who had lived in Donbas for 40 years doesn't know about it.

This video on how Russia is the last holdout of the Mongols is very interesting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8ZqBLcIvw0&ab_channel=Kraut

Casual bit of racism. The main reason for despotism/imperialism is just economics.

Reducing a 22 minute long video to simply casual racism doesn't seem to me to be a very deep look into it.

Can you point out the racism for me?

Wow that’s another real world use of the eponymous shibboleth

Yeah I learned about shibboleth here in HN, remember reading about Spanish using pork/ham foods as it's own shibboleth-like device. And how some portuguese butchers offered vegan kosher options to the travellers that wanted to not stand out in a cantina, hahaha

What it has done is create a country full of people who hate Russia, who will escape, sabotage, destroy every aspect of Russia. It has also shown it's own Russian population that another Stalin/Hitler walks in the halls of power(he dare not walk amongst them!!) - who will escape, sabotage, destroy every aspect of Russia from within, and it has shown who the real beast is. After the USSR fragmented, we all hoped we co…

> NATO slowly started to wind down via budgetary strangulation heading towards the fate of the not needed - NO MORE - NATO budgets are upped by ~~ 100% And that's exactly what the US wanted and that's why they deliberately interfered in Ukraine politics - to bait Russia. After the propaganda fades away, we'll know the reality of how the world has actually changed in both Ukraine and Russia.

And what about the aliens? Tell us about aliens and how they played poor and innocent Putin into launching a "liberation special military operation in Nazi Ukraine."

Total BS, NATO was a totally defensive alliance against the well known expansionary aims of the USSR - who fostered conquest and dictatorial regimes that gave zero power to the people. How many communist regimes have democratically elected governments? Write it on this piece of paper - no pen needed - there are none at all.

Russia has 4 clear demands. Why not just give it to them? reject nato, recognize crimea, demilitarize.

Putin is a crazy genocidal maniac and war is worse than hell since innocents suffer. Why argue about the 4 points and prolong the war?

I never understood Zelensky and his obsession to remain in power as well as force all men of Ukraine to fight the war. The west is also glorifying the ukrainian excessively and resulted in thousands of volunteer fighters.

The west arming the far right in Ukraine has been repeated umpteen times and has never changed anything. Taliban, isis, syrian free army, libyan rebels, somalian rebels. Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?
