There was a service where you could create portfolios that follow congresspeople. What was that again?

Absolutely blatant. Almost certainly nothing will happen.

Why can the people who make laws and are privy to some of the most private/sensitive information in the world trade on public markets?

Let's just ignore insider trading. At the very least... isn't it an inevitable conflict of interest?!

Would be great to hear about that! But doesn’t the law contain the 45 days clause? I.e your trades can be very late to the party

There was talk a few weeks ago about restricting such behavior, e.g. https://www.politico.com/news/2022/02/11/democrats-clean-up-... It seems to have dropped out of the news since then.
