#304Apple events used to be something I really looked forward too but they are kind of boring now. The hype they give in their events is starting to feel almost a parody of itself. I don't know, I can't put my finger on it, but for me the magic is gone and they should just announce at CES along with everyone else.
I still look forward to them but these more recent ones are just way too formulaic and polished.
I do miss the old Steve Jobs keynotes.

#305I realize this is totally off-topic, but has anyone else noticed how wide-stanced all of the presenters have been? Like your legs don’t stand that far apart normally; the announcer right now seems to literally need to constantly shift her legs to keep her standing stance so wide. I’ve noticed this a couple of other places too; is some body coach teaching the weirdest crap out in California right now?
This is the same in Microsoft, Google and Samsung. Those stands and hand gesture, somebody or group must be selling these in Silicon Valley to all big tech.
There are lot of people selling Snakes Oil, especially targeting those that are rich and powerful. The biggest problem is who the heck green lighted this at Apple. As if without Steve, they have no idea what to do or what not to do, but let's try every idea and see what sticks. If this sounds vaguely familiar that is because Google does exactly this.
I imagine Steve would be very pissed off seeing it.

A wide stance implies surefootedness and confidence. They are absolutely coached to appear the most certain they can when marketing/communicating statistics.
Christ they’re obviously coached on more than just their stance. Watch the hand and arm motions. The manner in which those motions are coordinated with the dialog. It’s all one choreographed dance. Those paying close attention will even notice the similarities between speakers. I recall Craig F. doing the same fingers-meet-fingers posture as the MBP lady from todays presentation.

I feel it too. Going on and on about TV-shows that got awards and a new green color is called "amazing" a hundred times? It's like they gave each department a certain percentage of allocated time in the event, and those that didn't have much to show just used the same hype speech as the ones that did. It's what happens when company heads care more about a good working environment than about wasting customers time. Not bad per se, but it does show.

Is it ergonomical? I've never heard of anyone that actually uses a touchscreen at work. The artists I know all uses expensive Wacom tablets because how else would you paint without neck pain for 8 hours a day?

Yep, Face ID is miserable. I can feel myself inwardly flinching every time I know I’m going to have to interact with it. All the swiping, the double tap for Apple Pay, just about everything is slower and less reliable, for no gain at all. That said, my wife gets quite dry hands and has never been able to use the fingerprint sensor reliably so this is a golden age for her. Would be nice to have the option of both goin…
And Apple Transit / Transport. If you have your FaceID unlock failure multiple time, ( You are not looking at the screen or mask ), the Transit wont work at all. You have to be up at the gate and do FaceID authentication.
