It was still not obvious that he would overtly invade Ukraine instead of covertly destabilizing it, which is what he is doing to the United States for example. He could've stroke that iron while it's hot, instead he did something really stupid. Now he is trying to murder as many Ukrainians as he can, and there is no other explanation for that other than that he is insane, stupid and weak.
He could've built an economy worth joining instead, but he choose to chase his agenda by spreading misinformation and terror, because apparently that's all he can do.

They didn't, but Russian military (the lunatics who came up with the invasion idea) didn't care.

#5What about this warning: do not enrich regimes, they'll spend the money they gain developing hypersonic missiles and invading free countries. Is it so difficult ? Before doing business with those ex-comie nations they should have given guarantees they had the will to became democratic. Instead, now, every time we buy a cellphone, gas, gasoline etc, we are financing their arsenal.

The reason why Russia attacked was because Ukraine was not in NATO.
