Will the US be forced to inflate it's debt away?

The post does not mention Social Security and Medicare, which are real, not nominal liabilities (SS payments are indexed to inflation, and medical costs rise with inflation). Their existence would make it harder for the government to reduce its overall liabilities through inflation.
