For topics outside of the middle east, I find Aljazeera to be pretty unbiased and on par with other reputable sources like BBC

You may find that, but I find that they amplify dissent in selected countries and minimize it especially in their own and their buddies. So, people can be mad that I point out that it's completely bizarre for them to be funding this unless they are really just secret Trotskyists, but pretending al Jazeera is neutral and has no agenda is just another species of Americans' lack of worldliness. That's why I specifically said "for topics outside of the middle east"

e.g. Their coverage of the recent Ottawa protests is fairly neutral and don't particularly support or antagonize either side

So you trust them outside of the Middle East fully aware that they push a line because they are state-controlled media associated with a slave-labor using regime just because they aren't talking about the middle east?
