This website is inane, juvenile and has no real use. And for all those reasons I love it. Kudos to HN for being a place where I can find things that just bring some silly fun to my life. I remember in the early days of the Interwebs, there was so many sites just like this one. You didn't have to go to FB, IG or some other content mill to find them. Plus, when you did find one, it had the same feeling of excitement as…

Thanks for the link & background, KYM is superb (and of course on !kym with DDG). Off-topic: from "top entries this week" on KYM, I just learned that the Bodganov twins (of Bogdanov affair fame, reverse Sokal hoax), have died (within 6 days of each other). I don’t even pay $30 for a haircut…

Even cheaper if you cut your own hair. I've already recouped the cost of equipment many times over. Works best when you're not going for some fancy look though and just want something clean and simple.

I've got a man bun presently and find you can just cut the bundle where the hair tie goes. Got a stubble trimmer too that does the sticky out bits.

I feel like google adsense or monetization in general was the downfall of all of that early web richness. When the web was first created, everybody got on and just started learning html and making things... because humans are creative. I did the same. I made fun websites with/for my friends. I loved geocities. Then after a few years, I was only concerned with pumping out crap content and how many pageviews I was gett…

In those days, everybody who was anybody had its own star trek fansite, where you could download midi files and gifs of rotating 3d klingon logos.

A mouse on an Android phone? Does your phone not have a touch screen?

It HAD a touch-screen before getting water damage. Repair consists of replacing the entire screen as the digitizer is glued to it and I am too broke to do that rn; so I got a usb2go adapter and been using it this way for months

well this is uncivilized... what's your venmo, assuming something that came in would be directed towards a working phone?

stealthedit: you're a CS student? Awesome.

Lol. Can someone explain the context here for those out of the loop?

It’s a pretty funny line. Anyone know what the original Japanese was?

I've been trying to find this site that, if I recall correctly, just has a gradient background that I think is animated and it's just an audio file of a man saying "Welcome to the" something-something in different ways.

I tried googling it but because it's so nondescript it's hard to find it.
